Can't do it: a tap you cannot flush
What to do when a tap is broken, not accessible or the tag does not work, who gets to see it and how it gets resolved.
Sometimes flushing is not possible: the tap is broken, the room is occupied or locked, or the tag does not work. Report it with Can't do it instead of skipping the tap. The manager then knows straight away, and the logbook shows why the tap was not flushed that day.
How to report it
- Open the route of the flushing round (Rounds, Open the route), or, if you flush without an account, today's round on the round page that opens from a tag or the QR code on the poster.
- Choose Can't do it at the tap.
- Choose the reason: "Tap broken", "Not accessible (room occupied or locked)" or "Tag does not work".
What happens next
- An alert "tap not flushed" is created, with the reason and who reported it. The site's managers receive an email.
- The report goes into the logbook.
- The tap stays open in the round. Can't do it is not a flush and not evidence. Once the tap has been repaired or is accessible again, flush it after all and tap the tag.
Each tap has at most one open alert; reporting Can't do it again does not create a second one.
How it gets resolved
As soon as the tap has been flushed and tapped, the alert is set to resolved automatically. The manager then closes it with what was done, for example "Tap repaired", "New tag attached" or "Tap temporarily shut off". See What an alert means.
If a tap is out of use for a longer time, set it to temporarily closed. See The weekly round. If a tag no longer works, attach a spare tag. See The tag does not scan.
