Installation in half an hour, step by step
What is in the box, what you need and in which order you place the receiver, the sensors and the tags.
You install LegioLog yourself, without an engineer and without technical knowledge. Allow about half an hour for an average site. You can stop in between; the app remembers where you were.
What you need
- A power socket where the receiver goes.
- Internet through the network cable from the box. That is the standard and the most reliable. Wifi is possible too, but only on a 2.4 GHz network, not on 5 GHz.
Nothing else: the fitting materials are in the box and no drilling is needed. No plumber, no engineer.
What is already prepared
Your site, buildings, measuring points and flushing points are already in the app, exactly as you gave them when the site was set up. Each sensor is registered to your account and has a sticker with the building it belongs to. The tags come in a labelled bag per building; you indicate which tag belongs to which flushing point when you stick them on. You do not need to configure anything else.
The four steps
- Place the receiver, about 5 minutes. Central, dry spot; plug in the power; wait until all four lights are on. See Placing the receiver and what the lights mean.
- Fit the sensors, about 10 minutes. The red probe on the hot pipe out of the water heater, before the first branch; the white one on the cold supply; with thermal paste and the insulation sleeve. See Fitting the sensors.
- Stick on the flushing tags, about 10 minutes. Take the bag for each building, stick a tag at each flushing point, tap it and indicate which flushing point it is. See Sticking on and assigning flushing tags.
- Check, about 3 minutes. Scan the QR code on top of the box: the activation page shows live whether everything works, with the placement check for each sensor. See Checking the installation.
Flushing without an account
Your staff do not need an account to flush. Set a flushing password under Settings and hang the poster from the box in the store cupboard: whoever taps a tag enters their name and that password once, and after that every tag works straight away. See Flushing with your own phone.
Combi boiler, heat pump or district heating
If you gave a combi boiler, heat pump, district heating or "don't know" when ordering, we call you before shipping about where the sensor goes. See Hot water source and heat pump.
Safety
Hot water pipes can be hotter than 60 degrees. Preferably fit the hot probe when the installation has not been heating for a while, or wear gloves. Do not work on pipes that are leaking or under repair.
