Placing the receiver and what the lights mean

Where the receiver works best, how you connect it and what to do if not all the lights come on.

The receiver (also called the gateway) is the box that forwards the sensors' readings to the app. Without a working receiver nothing comes in, so this is the first step.

How to place it

  1. Choose a central, dry spot: reception, the office or a utility cupboard with power. The more central to your buildings, the better the range.
  2. Screw the antenna onto the receiver hand-tight and stand it upright.
  3. Connect the power adapter.
  4. Connect to the internet: the network cable from the box into the receiver's network port and into your router. That is the standard and the most reliable. No router nearby? Then wifi is possible, but only on a 2.4 GHz network (not 5 GHz), using the steps on the installation page.
  5. Wait until all four lights are on. That takes a while, the first time sometimes up to five minutes.

When the globe light is on, the receiver is connected to the internet.

Not all the lights come on

  • Check that the adapter is firmly in the socket and that the network cable clicks in at both ends.
  • If you use wifi, check that it is a 2.4 GHz network; the receiver does not work on 5 GHz. A wrong password is the most common cause.
  • Was the receiver connected over wifi and does it not come back within an hour after a power or internet outage? Email or call us and we will help you as quickly as possible. With the network cable from the box you do not have this problem.
  • Give it five minutes the first time. The receiver then fetches its settings.

A second receiver

If your order includes a second receiver, it is for a spread-out site or for four or more buildings. Place it in the furthest building or on the other side of the site. Kit L comes with two receivers in the box. With kit S or M a second receiver is a separate line on your order: 129 euros, excluding VAT.

Following along live

On the dashboard you see for each measuring point when the last reading came in. If all the lights are on and still no readings come in after half an hour, see A sensor sends nothing.
