Sticking on and assigning flushing tags

A bag of tags per building, stick one at the flushing point, tap it and assign which flushing point it is. And what to do with outdoor taps and spare tags.

Every flushing point in the flushing round has a tag. With the tag, your staff member records a flush by holding the phone against it: the time, place and person are then fixed.

One bag per building

The box contains one bag per building with exactly as many tags as the flushing points you gave us. The label shows the building and the flushing points, for example "Toilet block north: 8 showers, 3 washbasins, 1 outdoor tap". The tags in a bag are all the same. You decide which tag belongs to which flushing point when you stick them on. There is also a bag of spare tags in the box.

How to stick on a tag

  1. Take the bag for the building you are in.
  2. Stick the tag, clean and dry, on the tile next to the tap, not on the tap itself.
  3. Stick on the tag and hold your phone against it. The app asks: "This tag belongs to Toilet block north. Which flushing point is this?"
  4. Choose the flushing point from the list, for example "Shower 3". You can change the name straight away. Done.

The app keeps track of what is still to do: the dashboard shows, for example, "9 of 12 flushing points placed", with the flushing points still open per building.

Is the flushing point not in the list? Then choose "Flushing point is not in the list". Does the tag belong to a different building from the one on the label? Choose "Does not belong to this building"; you then choose the building first and then the flushing point. If the tag replaces a broken or lost tag, choose "Replaces a broken or lost tag".

The tags are weatherproof. Sticking them outside, at outdoor taps or taps at a marina, is fine.

Where to hold the phone

On an iPhone the NFC antenna is at the top, and on most Android phones in the middle of the back. NFC must be switched on. If scanning does not work, see The tag does not scan.

Spare tags

The spare tags have not been assigned to a building yet. When you tap one, the app first asks for the building and then for the flushing point. This is how you replace a damaged tag, or add a tag to a flushing point you forgot to give us.

A flushing point that is no longer used

If a flushing point is not used for a while (drained, shut off for the winter), set it to Temporarily closed under Flushing points. It keeps its tag and is not in the round; with Open again it counts again. If the tap is really gone, choose Permanently out of service; the tag then becomes a spare tag again. See Seasonal closure and reopening.

Adding a building or flushing points

On the dashboard or under Flushing points, choose "Add flushing points or a building". The app works out what you need (extra tags per 10, and a sensor if the new building has its own water heater) and turns it into one order. The new tags again come in one bag per building.
