Help · Flushing and rounds
Extra rounds
When to plan an extra round alongside the weekly round, how to start and close it, and how it ends up in the logbook and the report.
Alongside the regular weekly round you can plan an extra round: a one-off round past a set of taps, outside the weekly rhythm.
When to use an extra round
- After work on the installation, when the pipes have been standing still for a while.
- For an alert that calls for extra flushing, for example after a cold water temperature that is too high.
- For a building that is taken back into use after standing empty.
After a winter closure you do not need to plan anything yourself: with Reopen the app sets up the extra round with all hot taps automatically. See Seasonal closure and reopening.
How it works
- Under Rounds, choose Plan an extra round. Give the round a name, choose the site, the taps (per building or all of them) and a deadline. The manager can plan rounds.
- Open the round and choose Start round. It then appears under "Rounds to walk", next to the weekly round.
- Flushing and recording work as in the weekly round: phone against the tag, tap open on hot until the timer reaches zero. See Recording a flush with the tag.
- When the round is finished, the manager chooses Close round. Taps that were not flushed stay visible as not flushed in the logbook.
Ticking off is not evidence
In an extra round you can also tick off a tap, for example when someone without a phone comes along. That is work organisation, not evidence: only the sensor makes a flush verified, with temperature evidence. In the report, ticked off and verified are therefore separate columns. The weekly round has no tick-off button.
In the report
An extra round appears separately in the report (section 4), showing per round whether all taps were flushed and what evidence the sensor gave. An inspector can then see that extra flushing was done deliberately at a reopening or after work. See The inspection report.
An extra round does not replace the weekly round; that simply continues.
